Homemade Salad Dressing

Nothing elevates a salad to "yum" status quite like a tasty dressing. Making your own salad dressing is a simple, cost effective, and a great way to control additives, like sugar and preservatives, that might be hiding in processed varieties. Follow this simple formula:

✅Fat - olive oil, avocado oil, nut oil.

✅Acid - wine vinegar, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar.

✅Seasoning - cumin, oregano, basil , curry.

✅Flavor booster - hummus, mustard, maple syrup [just a touch], tahini.

The addition of some maple syrup helps "quiet" the acid and allows you to use less oil, helping control overall calories. Oil plays an important role in maximizing absorption of oil-soluble nutrients in leafy greens [we're talking to you vitamins A and K], but a little goes a long way.
